Shaya Safaisini

I was born on 3.7.1984 in Bandar Abbas – South of Iran and have finished an academic education in Handcraft at the university of Shahr-e-Kord in Iran. After graduation, I started to teach art to children, which resulted in seeing the world with eyes of children. Their fantasies inspired me by my first artistic works. Besides, I founded my own educational institute to teach ceramics and provide the chance for other young artists to introduce their works and teach in their own artistic fields. At the same time, my bachelor’s thesis with the title of Traditional Dress of omen in Hormozgan was published in Iran. Inmy second phase of tistic activities, I got interested in the problems of women and began to observe the daily life of traditional women of Iran and produce artistic works with this theme. After a while, social and philosophical aspects of life of Iranian women became my focal point. I have started to study Object Sculpture at the University of fine arts in Vienna under supervision of Julian Göthe, in order to expand my horizons and get some experiences working with modern art.
